Fiona is a Mama's girl. Her first three weeks of preschool were filled with tears and anguish at morning drop off time, hers not mine. It got so that I was wondering if we were needlessly traumatizing her. Daddo convinced me to stick it out. About 4 months in to the school year, one of the Teacher's Aides told me, "Today was the first day Fiona didn't cry at lunchtime. She has a tough time with transitions." Ouch! Knife through the heart. Gradually, she grew fond of Mississ Bahwadlee (Mrs. Bradley) and Mississ Looobin (Mrs. Lubin), and came to look forward to Sirkoh Time (Circle Time), Shayoh Day (Share Day), Wunch Bunch (Lunch Bunch), Chapel, and playing with her friends.
Fifi really came out of her shell this year. She will talk to almost anyone now. She performs on stage. She has her own friends. And, although she is still an avid thumb sucker, she has blossomed from a baby into a little girl. These are some pictures from the last day of school picnic on the front lawn of her school.
Madeline surprised me with her newly acquired jump roping skill. She does it all fast, like a boxer.
