Charlie is Three Months Old!

"Where's Charlie?"

Stretch!

"Mmmm, hand..."

Charlie and his first babysitter, Danielle

  • Little Dude is sleeping a 6-7 hour stretch pretty consistently. Mommy likes!
  • At 8 weeks Charlie would hold stuff if you put it in his hand.
  • Charlie has his first trip to the Zoo.
  • At 9 weeks poor Chachi is stuck in the hospital for two days with a pretty bad respiratory virus.
  • At 10 weeks he started little chuckles or giggles when we do something he likes.
  • At 12 weeks he started grabbing at objects within his reach.
  • He enjoys watching television (uh-oh).
  • If you say his name or talk to him, he gives big smiles.
  • His vocalizing sounds like long stretched out vowel sounds and shrieking.
  • He sometimes says something that sounds like "mom."
  • He doesn't really like to sleep laying on his tummy on top of mommy anymore. He prefers his back.
  • He is now in 3-6 month clothes.
  • Everybody says he looks just like Daddy.
  • At 12 weeks we left Charlie with a babysitter for the first time so we could go to a couples dinner for Daddo's discipleship group. He did great! Hardly any crying.
  • Charlie meets his Great Grandma Joie, Uncle Jeff, Great Uncle Billy, Irene, Great-great Uncle John, and Great-great Aunt Helen for the first time.
  • Charlie is now in size 3 diapers.
  • He really loves it when Madeline plays with him.
  • When I get the girls ready in the morning, I bring Charlie into their room and lay him down on their purple Tinkerbell couch. They like to cover him up with blankets, "read" to him, and give him stuffed animals.
  • It seems like he is happy to see me because I'm his mom and not just because I have milk for him.
  • He no longer lays his head down on your shoulder when being carried around. He likes to lift his head up and look around. He has very good posture.
  • He can hold his head up pretty well.
  • He like to suck on his hands and rub them together like he is plotting evil. We call this his "machinations." Maddie used to do it too.
  • If you hold his hands, he can stand up in your lap.
  • On 4/20, Charlie had a reunion with all of the babies born from our Childbirth class with Robin Gruver.
