The Gentleman at Work and Play

At Work

At Play

This one's a toss up between work and play. He climbed up there with no adult supervision or assistance. Time to get rid of the changing table or anchor it to the wall.

Some fun facts about the gentleman:

  • He seems to have an innate need to impress girls, especially teenage girls. We recently had a young woman visitor who inspired him to put on display some of his karate-like moves while shouting, "HI-YA!" Nobody in our family has ever actually set foot inside a dojo. It's like it was instinctive.
  • Don't eat a brownie around him if you want any for yourself. He will stick his cute face in your face and implore, "Moh chockit?" in an Oliveresque fashion. You will not be able to say no. He will eat your entire brownie.
  • He has a repentant heart. While repeatedly shutting the refrigerator door on my body, he coos, "Shahwee mama, shahwee mama, shahwee mama...."
  • He's a conversationalist. He gets my attention from the backseat while I'm driving and once he has it he will just spit out any words he knows: "Schawckah bawl," "dohg,""bohwd, mama,""mama, chikahn."
  • The gentleman enjoys showers, so much so that he rarely wants to get out. I usually have to execute some crafty maneuver to snatch up his slippery little body and quickly wrap him in a towel (both to dry him and improve my grip). The whole while he bucks, and screams, and writhes until I can get us to a mirror, at which point I say, "Who dat baby?". Upon beholding his handsome reflection, he becomes giddy with recognition and giggles uncontrollably. I keep asking, "Who dat baby?" until he can sputter out, "Chachi!" and we do this with every reflective surface between the bathroom and his bedroom.
  • His knowledge of human anatomy extends to his "iyyys, nohws, eeyohs, hed, hay-yoh, ahwm, yeg, tohs" and "mouf."
  • The gentleman likes books.
