On Any Given Day

On any given day, we are likely to accomplish a host of activities ranging from dance class, to school, to MOPS, to swim lessons, to grocery shopping, etc.,etc. But, the one thing that never seems to waver is the laundry. A day rarely passes that does not see some manner of laundry being done. Folding was our task on this day, and the Fistress resolved herself to go a-climbin'. After she ascended Mt. Laundry, she sat atop the clothes with a triumphant look of satisfaction in her beaming little eyes. Now if I can only get her to fold...

Maddie is waving hello to her father in this picture. She often loves to tell stories about his parental mishaps, preferably to total strangers. Among her favorites are the time he forgot to put a diaper on Fi but instead put her PJs on her naked behind and put her to bed and also the time he gave Maddie "the wrong milk." However, she also thinks that he is the greatest man to ever walk the earth. Whatever is broken, Dad can fix it. It doesn't matter what it is: the electricity goes out, Dad can fix it; popscicle stick breaks, Dad can fix it; day turns to night, Dad can fix it. You get the picture. Also, anything that I don't know, she believes that he will have the answer to. If we see a stranger on the street and I don't know the person's name, she'll say with complete certainty, "Dad probably knows." My greatest encouragement that my daughter has an awesome Dad came recently when she brought me a broken toy and announced, "Dad can fix it. He's a great guy."
